So there is a website that I get a lot of my ideas for showers and parties that I will every now and then throw. Well...one of my pics for Stacy's baby shower made it to their website. Some Exciting News!

For the past three months Mike and I have been keeping a BIG secret. We can finally announce we are expecting a baby at the end of August (the 25th to be exact), so we are a little over 12 weeks now. We are over the moon and in complete shock that this is finally happening for us. Yesterday we went to the doctor where we got to hear the little heart beat. It is a sound that I will never forget. Tears were immediately in both of our eyes.



After experiencing a loss, we wanted to make sure that everything was completely healthy with this pregnancy before we let the cat out of the bag. Being able to finally tell everyone has been the best part. Phone calls, text messages, in person, emails have been SUPER fun! For those that knew how long we have been struggling with this thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued love, support and prayers. We ask that you continue to remember us and we will be updating the blog when we find out any more news. We go back in 4 weeks for our first ultrasound since we found out. Our doc said yesterday that we "should" be able to find out the sex then if baby Nowell will cooperate. We do however have a pic of our first ultrasound back at 6 weeks. It looks more like an egg with a dot in the middle. there is a second egg in the pic, but there wasn't a heartbeat in it, and yesterday we only heard one heartbeat, which we are still ecstatic about.

Getting the car inspected

So...for the past week I have been trying to get my car inspected. It took me four tries! It all started on Wednesday 12/31 when we realized our inspection was due that day. So we took it to a local place where they proceeded to tell us that the do not do emissions testing. So then we took it to Asheboro where we tried to get it done, but they couldn't because our car didn't pass. We needed to fix our radiator, the belt was loose and our engine light was on. So then we call back to the dealership where we just picked it up from on Tuesday the 30th to tell them that they didn't fix anything like they told us.

So this Thursday I took the car into the dealership to get everything done. They fixed all the problems and then proceeded to tell me they couldn't inspect it because the new radiator had to be driven at least 50 miles before they could test. So then I drove back home and then back to the dealership the next day where they said they couldn't pass me because a license plate light was out. (By now I was getting a little ill). I asked them can't they just replace the bulb and then do the test? They said yes, but they needed to get my permission first.

So 30 minutes later I paid $30 for them to screw in a bulb plus $30 more for the inspection and my car was finally inspected. Then I drove off and noticed I had the same old sticker in the window. I then turned around and went back. I walked in and told them that I needed a sticker. He had the nerve to laugh at me and said that they don't do stickers anymore, and that a police officer can tell just by looking at my lisence plate.

THIS is why I HATE getting the car fixed.

Welcome Aaden!!

My little baby sister had a baby Friday!! Aaden Carter Maysonet was born on Friday January 2, 2009 at 2:48pm. He was 6lbs 6oz and was 20 1/2 inches. He is so precious!! Aaden got to come on Sunday around noon.

Congratulations to Kevin and Stacy for such a wonderful blessing!!

Wonderful Christmas/New Year

Okay, so it has been a while since I have posted, but I have a great excuse! I have been traveling for the last 3 weeks. December 19, we headed out to Asheboro to drop off my wonderful dog, Trapper. Then on the 21st we had to sing at church so we headed back to RR. After church we had lunch w/ some friends and then headed to Castle Hayne to spend time w/ Mike's dad and step mom. We were there for Sunday night to Tuesday morning when headed to Jacksonville to spend time with Mike's mom, stepdad and sister/bro in law. Plus we had the chance to spend time with our favorite niece!!! She is SO adorable.

Thursday (Christmas Day) morning we opened gifts, then headed back to Castle Hayne for Christmas Lunch and open more gifts. Then we headed back to Asheboro that night were we opened gifts from 10:30pm-midnight. Saturday morning we spent w/ my mom's family and had a wonderful lunch. We got to spend time with my sister, parents and my friends. On Sunday the 28th, I sang at my parent's church and tried singing A Baby Changes Everything. I love that song! Then Monday came and we headed home. Tuesday we had to drop my car off to get fixed (it still isn't fixed) then Wednesday was New Year's Eve. We spent the night at Claire and Gregory's house where we played Rock Band, Mad Gab, and poker until the ball dropped. We got home at 2am. Then I was up at 8 am on the 1st so I could go see my sister b/c she was scheduled to deliver her baby on Friday (more to come in the next post).

I racked up on Christmas, I received a Wii Fit, digital picture frame, some cooking supplies, and some great books to read. My Christmas was absolutely WONDERFUL!!!
