We had to go to a Christmas Party on Saturday night.  It was a covered dish party and this is what I came up with....

Visiting Santa

Another year older...another bad Santa photo.  Yes, we went to see Santa yesterday and I think it is safe to say we did not care for him.  LOL!!  It is almost identical to last year.  I will put a comparison picture for you.

Dash Update

I posted earlier in the week that we have a visitor sent to us directly from Santa.  We have named him Dash.  You won't believe what we caught Dash doing this morning...

He decided to go fishing.  Looks like he has a nice size fish!  Hopefully he is having a great stay and is reporting good reports to Santa.  We will see...

New Tradition

This year will be the first year that we will be at our house Christmas morning.  There are a TON of things that I want to try and do and maybe even do each year.  The first thing is an advent calendar.  I picked up two at the dollar spot at Target.  One is a Christmas tree and the other is Santa Claus.  The Tree is Maddie's and Santa is Zack's.  Every day they LOVE moving the candy cane from the previous number to the next.  I hope to eventually put these in their rooms as they get older and make my own calendar with little gifts (candy or something) inside each day.  Since they are in preschool and learning their numbers this calendar is PERFECT for them.  They just love looking for the new number!

Zootastic

Monday night we went to visit a local place called Zootastic.  They have 2 miles of Christmas lights....I mean lots of Christmas lights.  About halfway through you can get out and feed animals.  Then at the top of the hill they have Santa's shop where you can visit the Big Guy.  The kids had a ball!!  We didn't really care for Santa.  Michael and I had to sit with Santa to get the kids with him.  They didn't cry, but they also were scared.  We did say "hello" and "bye" to him though.  Unfortunately it was raining, so we didn't do too much.  They also have pony rides, a petting zoo, etc. but do to the weather we stuck to indoor activities.  One thing that I loved was Santa's shop was decked with lights that moved to music.  It was really neat!

Our Christmas Visitor

Santa has sent us a special guest. He has sent us an Elf on the Shelf. If you aren't familiar with these special elves, let me share. Santa sends these special little guys/gals to watch the kids. He flies back to Santa every night and gives them a report at how they are behaving. He then flies back to the house at a new spot every day. He turns back to a toy when the kids are around, but when no one is around sometimes he can get a bit mischievous.
We are so excited that Santa has selected us for the elf on the shelf program! He has asked us to name our elf. So we have decided to name him Dash. We are happy to have him stay with us. He is scheduled to leave Christmas day.
I might just post more on Dash later depending on what he did the night before.

The weekend

This weekend we were in J-ville as you can tell from my post yesterday.  We arrived Friday and hung out with Grammy, Pop, Aunt Sue, and Aunt Kim.  Then Saturday we got to see Aunt Madelin, Aunt Debbi, along with Aunt Kim and Aunt Sue.  We played and had a grand old time.  Zack has a new obsession...Lion King.  Poor Aunt Sue had to watch it 3 times alone on Saturday just in the few hours she helped watch the kids while I helped set up for the party.  It was a wonderful weekend!
