Marshmallow fight

We found the two elves having a little too much fun today.  They were throwing marshmallows and making a mess.

Day 23

What was our Advent activity for day 23? Why, baking cookies for Santa of course! We had reindeer, bells, Christmas Trees, stockings, candy canes and more!!

Our book was 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Our lesson was Jesus said: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Day 22

On day 22, our advent activity was to go see Santa and get our picture taken with him.  The kids were so excited, but for some reason when we went to take a picture we didn't look excited, except Maddie.

Our book, was Mary Christmas, splat!.

Our lesson, it was on the Bread of Life.

Dash and Bernard

We found Dash and Bernard playing a game of Connect Four this morning.  Looks like they are evenly matched.

Day 21

Day 21 we hosted family.  Mamaw, Aaden and Bentley came to visit.  

We read The Christmas Sweater.  

Our lesson was The Light of the World.  Jesus should be the Light of our lives.

Day 20

On the 20th we went Christmas shopping.  We still have a few on our list, but we are much closer now to being done.  

Our book was the Twelve Days of Christmas in North Carolina.

Our lesson was the Vine.

December 19

Friday the 19th, our activity was our Christmas Pageant at school. The kids did great!!  Maddie was an angel and Zack was a shepherd.

We also went downtown Mooresville.  The kids got to get cotton candy, cookies, carriage rides, make reindeer food an watch the dancing Christmas lights.  

Our book was Christmas with Rita and Whatsit.

Our lesson was The Good Shepherd.

December 18

On the 18th we had our school Christmas parties.  Since I teach, I didn't get a chance to go in their class to get any pictures.  I do have pics of mine though!  I had a Grinch Christmas Party.

We read the Polar Express.

Our lesson was Jesus was The Word.

December 17

On the 17th, we filled up piggy banks for Lottie Moon offering.  I wish I had taken a picture.  The kids probably had $20 each of change and couldn't even carry the banks.  So sweet!!

December 16

Tuesday the 16th, our advent was to go watch Maddie dance.  Her class danced some Christmas songs at a local nursing home.  They did a fabulous job!!

Our book was The Little Engine that could and the Snowy, Snowy Christmas 

Our lesson was The Wise Men

December 15

The 15th, our lesson was Go and Tell it.  We should tell others about Jesus like the shepherds did.  

Our book was The Berinstein Bears Night Before Christmas.  

Our activity was to watch Prep and Landing.

December 14

If you knew my week last week, you would forgive me for my lack of posts.  

On the 14th day of Christmas our advent was to watch mommy and daddy's Christmas musical at church.  Maddie watched, Zack wanted to go play with the kids instead.  Maddie was so good.  I could tell she was bored in a few spots but she enjoyed when the real people came in, like the Angel, Mary, Joseph, Jesus and others.

Our lesson/ornament was The Shepherds were afraid.

Our book was The Christmas Star.  Love that book!  It has a lamb named star and the whole town ends up chasing him.  He leads them to the Nativity scene.

Day 13

Today we read Suzy Goose and the Christmas Star.  

Our advent activity was to visit a drive-through nativity.  It was really neat.  Maddie and Zack's teacher was one of te actors.  Mrs. Terry played Mary Magdalene and found the tomb empty.  

Our lesson for tonight was Born in a Stable.  

Sewing Clothes

I think Dash watched me sew a lot of dresses over the last few days and got inspired.  We found him at the sewing machine this morning.  I wonder what he is making.

Day 12

On the 12th day of Christmas we went to visit a live nativity.  The kids were a little timid of the animals.  Probably because he cow kept coming up and mooing at people.  

Our book was If You Take a Mouse to the Movies.

Our lesson was No Room in the Inn.

Day 11

On the 11th day of Christmas we wrote a Christmas card to a missionary.  

Our book was Ten on the Sled.

Our ornament/lesson was Having a Good Attitude.  It was a great lesson on how mary and Joseph always had a great attitude even though they had to do things they didn't want to do.

Day 10

On day 10 we shopped for diapers and wipes and gave them to "baby Jesus" at church.  Our Mission Friends do this every year.  They have a birthday party for Jesus.  The gifts are collected and taken to the pregnancy support center in Mooresville.  I wish I had a picture, but I had our musical dress rehearsal the same night.  

Our book was Jingle All the Way.  We loved is book!  It comes with an interactive dog the makes noises when you read certain phrases.  

Our advent tree ornament/lesson was Immanuel.
