Grampy and Grandma Visit

Monday we had a visit from Grampy and Grandma.  They were coming back from Morganton and stopped by for a little visit.  We grilled out, played putt-putt and got into the kiddy pool.  Pretty fun times!!

Pizza Party

We were treated to a pizza party by Maddie and Zack's teachers on Thursday.  Thank you Ms. Audrey and Ms. Jennie for a wonderful school year!!

Trapper

Trapper is coming up on his 9th birthday.  He is my first child.  He is an extremely active dog.  Even if he lays around most of the day he will get up and run around hard for a while at some point in the day. Yesterday while we were outside he ran along the fence like normal barking at the neigh it's dogs.  Then out of the blue last night Trapper couldn't jump up on the couch.  Then he couldn't walk up the stairs.  This morning he couldn't walk down the stairs.  So I placed a call to the vet and they had us bring him in right away. They have diagnosed Trapper with Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD).  They gave us some meds and told us to keep him confined and not move much for 7 days.  Most of you know my stories on Trapper.  The dog LoVES to run around, jump and be active.  If his condition gets worse then they suggested surgery right away.  I have done a lot of research today and wasn't pleased about the results of surgery.  Most time it only helps a month or two, especially on older dogs like Trapper.  IVDD can be a hereditary disease especially for dogs with short legs.  He has a slipped disk in his back and his neurological system can't feel his back legs.  I've cried quite a bit today thinking of the worse case scenario, which is to put Trapper down.  I'm hoping this wont be the case and that we can keep him still this week and his meds will help him.  I'm not sure what I will do if he gets worse.  I could use some prayers!  I know some people think that crying over a dog is silly, but he is much more than our pet.  He is our family!

Graduation Party

This weekend I had the honor of helping with a Graduation Party for Adam.  How do I know Adam?  Not only is he a member of our church but his wonderful mother was Maddie and Zack's teacher this year (Ms. Audrey).  When she approached me about the party I of course was HONORED and EXCITED!!  Here are a few pics I just couldn't help but share!

Last Day of School

Thursday was the kids' last day of school in the 3's class.  SAD how time has just flown by!  Here they are doing their annual pose!

Field Day

Tuesday I was called in to sub for Ms. Audrey (the kids asst. teacher).  Since it was their field day they let me sub in their class which I really enjoyed!  They played t-ball, kickball, tag, hoola hooped, and drew with chalk.  Then they watched The Little Mermaid until parent pick up.  It was fun to see them as a "teacher".

NASCAR Days

Saturday while I was scouting a wedding locale, daddy took the kids to the NASCAR festival.  They had a blast!!  

36 Years

I want to wish my parents a Happy Anniversary!!  36 years is quite impressive!  We love you and wish you several years more!!

Family Portraits

My Mother's Day Gift

Friday I got to cash in my Mother's Day gift.  It was a gift to the spa.  It was AWESOME!!  I got a wax, mani/pedi, and a massage.  Yes...my hubby spoiled me.  Not only did I get to do all these things...he took the day off to watch the kids.  I am one blessed woman!  Love my man!

Field Trip

Thursday he kids had a field trip to the park.  They had a blast!  I unfortunately wasn't able to go due to prior engagements.  I only was able to see them at the very end.  They had fun which made mommy happy!

Monday, since we didn't have to go anywhere I let Zack dress himself.  It was so funny I had to share!!  Here he is with his shirt and pants on backwards!!

Mother's Day Gifts

Now that all the moms have opened their gifts I can finally share what I made.  I actually made some picture hangers.  I took some boards and decoupaged them and glued some clothes pins.  What do you think?  Mamaw received 5 spots (4 grandkids with room to grow if Stacy decides to have another), Grandma received 7 spots (5 grandkids an room to grow from her sons), and Grammy got 10 spots (9 grandkids and room for one more in case Aunt April or Aunt Amy decide to have one more).  This was a fun project!!

Cousin Reuniting

Thursday after school we went to Mamaw and Papaw's house.  We went to bed all in the same bed so that way when Aunt Stacy and the boys came in (which they came in after midnight), they wouldn't wake up the twins.  So Friday we were up early to have fun!  We took Mamaw out to lunch for an early Mother's Day treat.  Then we went home to play more!  Saturday we played a little in the morning, but had to say goodbye in the afternoon.  It was so much fun seeing everyone and playing with them!!!!!

Mission Friends

Last Wednesday was our last night of Mission Friends until next fall.  The kids got a little plaque and go up stage for recognition.  

Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish a very happy Mother's Day to three beautiful women!!  My mom (Mamaw), I love you so much and am so grateful to God for having you as my mother!  Mike's mom (Grammy), we love you and very thankful that you raised such a wonderful man (who completes me).  And Mike's bonus mom (Grandma), we love you and are truly blessed to have you in our lives!  May all the moms out there have a truly blessed Mother's Day!!

Quick Witted

Tonight (and actually over the last few days) Zack had a quick witted conversation that I had to share.  It makes us think he is going to be a smart-elect like his daddy was (his words not mine)!  So I had to share this comical event.  Zack came in the living room with a tennis ball and baseball bat in his hands.  He took it to daddy and was about to ask him to toss the ball to him so he could hit it.  I look at him and say "we don't play baseball in the house".  Without missing a beat he says proudly "it's not baseball, it's tennis!"  Yes, way too quick witted!!  I am going to be in trouble with this one!!

Teacher Appreciation

This week is Teacher Appreciation.  And I am in awe of our teachers so I want to make sure they know we cherish them!!  Today was a small gift because their big brunch is Thursday.  Our teachers, Ms Jennie and Ms Audrey both love Snickers so I made them some snickers popcorn last night.  Here is the picture!
