Birthday Shout (belated)

I am behind on all my posts.  I am swamped with an upcoming wedding and life in general!  I sincerely apologize for posting this late!!!

We want to wish Auntie Crystal a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  Welcome to the 30's club!  We love you!!!!!

Parent Free Weekend

The kids got a chance to stay with Grampy and Grandma the weekend of 17th-20th.  They got to go swimming, fishing, riding a boat, painting pottery, and even going to Chuckee-Cheese!  Yeah, they didn't miss mom and dad one bit.  When they went fishing they both caught fish.  They had such a fun time!  Thanks Grampy and Grandma!!

Kid Free Vacation

Right after Callie's birthday party, Michael and I snuck away to Myrtle Beach while the kids stayed with Grampy and Grandma.  We were a little worried when we saw the wether forecast and it said rain the whole time.  It rained all day Saturday while we traveled, but as soon as we reached Myrtle Beach it was beautiful!

Saturday we arrived around 4:30 and checked into our hotel.  After that we headed out to eat.  We actually made it an early night since I had to get up and run (more to come on that later).  Sunday we spent the morning and early afternoon soaking up the sun and reading.  Or at least I tried to read while Michael interrupted me.  Sunday night we went over to Broadway at the Beach for dinner.  We actually ended up running into our associate pastor and his family when we arrived there and found out that we were staying at the hotels right beside each other (small world).  Monday, we went shopping at some outlets and did more reading. My goal was to read three books and I ended up doing 2 1/2, not bad.  Monday night we went to eat at Landry's seafood (amazing food!) and then we went to Duck's in North Myrtle Beach to listen to a band and shag.  The band was really good.  We enjoyed them!  They were the Coco Loco Band.  I would recommend them!  Tuesday we headed back to reality.  We picked up the kids at Grampy and Grandma's house and headed home.  It was a great little mini getaway!

Skating Birthday Party

Sorry I have been so behind on posts!!

Friday, August 16th, we went down to SC to help celebrate the birthday girl, Callie!  They originally had planned a Splash Pad party but the day before the power we had a VERY strange weather shift and it turned cold and rainy.  It had felt more like October and not August.  So they ended up moving the party to a skating rink.  It was a lot of fun.  I hadn't skated in over fifteen years.  So it took me a few minutes to get used to it again.

Callie was really good!  The younger three took off their skates and ran around in their socks and played.  They had a blast.  Then it was time for pizza and cake.  Poor Cayden had a bad fall and hit his head and ended up having to go to the hospital to get stitches.  Other than that incident, it was a really fun party!!

Sewing Gifts

This week I have been busy working on some projects for a special birthday girl this weekend!  So WARNING, Aunt Amy don't read further if you want to be surprised.  If you continue to read DON'T let Callie see this until after her party!

Ok!  For the rest of you...  Like I said I have been busy sewing some projects.  Last week while on Pinterest (how many conversations start this way now?), I saw some "everyday princess wear" and thought it would be perfect for our Disney trip next year.  Since there are only two girls in the family, I decided to try and make these dresses for Callie and Maddie to wear while at Disney.  (Side note: all the boys will be getting at least 1 shirt, haven't decided which character I want to do or if I want to do more than 1 since there will be 4 boys!). On the site I saw there were 4 dresses: Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell and Snow White.  I talked to Aunt Amy and decided to make 3 dresses: Minnie Mouse (since we will meet her the first day), Cinderella (we will be going to her dinner), and Rapunzel because the girls like her.  So I made those three...but because I LOVE Snow White, I made her dress too.  Hopefully Callie will like them.  She doesn't have to wear them to Disney, but maybe she can play dress up at home too!  I've talked to Michael  and I think I'm going to start making some and try selling them online. We will see how that goes.  I might add Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell online, not sure.  So without further delay, here are the dresses...

Ninja Turtles

For zack's birthday he received a costume/weapon of Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  So, I showed him the movie to teach him what/who they were.  Now he has become obsessed.  Since they have been so good this week (Mommy has been on craft projects), I promised them that we could go to Target and they pick out birthday gifts from their birthday money.  Zack picked out the other three Ninja Turtles' costumes/weapons.  He only had enough money for 2, but I just couldn't say no to the last one.  Yes, Michael called me a Sucker too!  So now the whole family can be the new Ninja Turtles!

BB&T crowd

Saturday we (the hole family) was invited for a low country boil.  Seafood, corn, potatoes...what's not to love!!  We had such a great time.  All the other couples ha kids around the twins age.  I believe there were 18 kids there.  It was fun chaos!  Zack fell in love with a tree swing, while Maddie entertained everyone (I think she will be my class clown!  She loves to make people laugh!).  We had so much fun!

The Suite Life

Friday, Michael got rewarded, for doing so well at the bank, that he was one of a few select people at the bank to get an invite to the Panther's game and their suite.  Not only did he get to go, but I did too!  It was awesome!!  They had food, drinks, amazing seats, TVs, and great company!!  I had such an awesome time and got completely spoiled.  I'm not sure I will ever enjoy a game without being in a suite (okay that's a lie, but I did get spoiled!).  Such an awesome once in a lifetime experience for me, and the Panthers won!!

Shining Star

Sunday after church the family headed to Asheboro to watch a special performance.  Asheboro's RSVP put on Annie Get Your Gun, and Auntie Crystal was the lead, Annie.  She was AMAZING!!  We loved watching her sing and act.  Her stage presence was just wonderful.  After the show I got a picture with the star!  Love you Auntie Crystal!!

Happy Birthday Zack

Zack,

Our dear sweet baby boy.  God has blessed us with such an amazing son.  We can't believe that you are already four.  I tell you all the time to "stop growing", which you then reply... "no you stop shrinking."  You have enriched our lives more than we could have imagined.  We are so lucky to have you!  You are compassionate, loving, funny, and just amazing!  You currently love to read, sing, help mommy (and others), play cars, watch movies, and play games.  You know how to spell your's and your sister's name along with a few other words, you can count to 29, know what color combos can be combined to make new colors, and you are currently learning how to write several letters on your own.  We love you so much.  To the moon and back and then a few more laps.  Thank you for being such an amazing little boy.  We hope you have a wonderful 4th birthday.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

Pirate & Mermaid Party

Today was the big birthday party for my soon to be four year olds (less than 5 hours now).  It turned out amazingly well!  I had so much help and I have some MAJOR people I have to thank!  My mom (Mamaw), Mike's mom (Grammy), and everyone that came that made their birthday special!!

When I asked Maddie and Zack what kind of party they wanted, Zack immediately said Pirate party.  We went back and forth for MONTHS on what kind Maddie wanted.  First it was a Pirate Princess.  In other words a pirate that was also a princess.  Then it was...no...I want a REAL princess.  Then it was Mermaid, and so on and so on.  So...I finally settled with the theme about 3 1/2 weeks ago.  I was VERY slack on getting things together.  I had an idea on what I wanted to do...I just didn't do it until this week.  So I have been a little stressed.  BUT, everything came together and I think the kids had a great time.  Below are a few of my favorite pictures.  I will have the full pictures on my party blog later (or my facebook page).
