Big News...

So we have an announcement... Mike has been offered an opportunity with BB&T in Mooresville, NC. After much consideration and prayer we have decided to take it. We are going to miss our incredible friends and church family. Our entire marriage has been spent in Eastern NC and it will always remain a special place in our hearts.

We will be moving across the state, over 210 miles to be exact. Our first step is looking at houses this Saturday. We think we could be moving as early as Mid November or no later than December. Mooresville, NC is about 30 minutes north of Charlotte. Please keep us in your prayers that all of this process will go smoothly.

Our Weekend

This past weekend we had a visit from Gram and Great-Aunt Sue. They babysat for a few hours while Mike and I hit Wallyworld and then hit up Wings-N-Rings to watch a football game. Then home to watch the Heels finally win a football game. We then had a few friends over to eat up the insane amount of food we fixed and to play some classic board games (i.e. Encore, Scene It, Planet Hollywood, etc.) . Sunday we said goodbye to Gram and Sue, while we were on our way out the door for church. Thank you so much Gram and Aunt Sue!! We love you both!!!!

Wednesday we had a special visitor. We had a visit from Grampy. Grampy is currently on the road for work so he stayed the night with us. Thanks to Grampy, mommy and daddy got out of the house for about an hour so we could go to church. So thanks Grampy! It was nice to have a midweek visitor! We love you!!

Going the distance...

I haven't written about this, but Michael, Sarah and I are all doing the couch potato to 5K in 9 weeks program. (You can go this website if you would like to learn more.) I think the biggest reason I haven't written anything was because I wasn't quite sure how serious I was about it. Well we just completed the 5th week tonight (Over half way there). I am super excited. We ran 2 miles. I am just thrilled about it. The last time I was able to run that much without stopping was probably back in high school when I played sports. I told Mike tonight I think I could have done the whole 5K tonight just on adrenaline for completing the 2 miles. I think my next step is to sign up for an actual race. I don't want to lose the feeling that I CAN do this!!

Ducky Derby

Yesterday, along with Mamaw, we took the twins to Ducky Derby here in Roanoke Rapids. It is sort of like a fall festival. They had a few vendors, food, and the Holiday band. Mamaw got all the grand-kids a personality ducky. Their favorite thing they got was a pinwheel.

We came home around 1:30 so the kids could get their naps. Meanwhile mom and I got some major cleaning done, while Michael watched some football games. That night Mamaw watched the kiddies for us so we could go over to our friend's house for Brandi's (Aarie's mommy) birthday party. Below are a few pictures of the kids.

Today we all went to church and then out to our normal after church lunch. Then it was back to the house for the kiddos' naps and to say bye-bye to Mamaw. Thank you so much for coming, helping us clean, and babysit. We love!!

So Stinkin' CUTE!!

I know every mother says this and I'm 110% biased, but my kids are the cutest kids E-V-E-R! The age they are now is definitely my most favorite age so far! They are coming into their own personalities and they are extremely active. (Active might be an understatement!) Zack is now walking around the house. He just LOVES to walk around. He is so proud of his newest accomplishment. He has learned to just stand up without having to pull up on something. It is just so stinkin' C-U-T-E!! The only thing that I don't like now that he is mobile, he is extremely sneaky!! If I don't stay on top of my game, he is into something fast!!!! The other day I sat him down for a second and he immediately ran to the stairs to try and climb up them. Don't worry I caught him before he was on the 3rd step.

Maddie is walking a little, not nearly as much as brother, but she too is into everything!! Her newest thing is wanting to cuddle. She ALWAYS wants to be in my or Michael's arms. Which has its moments when it is incredible sweet, but then other times, when I want to get things done it gets a little tough. She is a talker! Maddie also loves to sing. Her newest thing is singing B-I-B-L-E, however her version is "E-I-E-I-E". Again so stinkin' C-U-T-E!!

Below is a picture of the kids in one of their outfits they got for their birthday. Grampy is a big Alabama fan. And it just so happens we have some friends that live in Alabama, so they got them these outfits for their birthday, which they will be wearing to watch some football games with Grampy. So cute!!

Never Forget

Image from Daily News 365 Online News Source

Usually my blog is always about the kids or a party that we have, but I wanted to take the time to at least honor those that lost their lives 9 years ago. I think 9-11-01 is a date that is and will always be one of those days that everyone remembers where they were, what they were doing and who they were with when they heard/saw the news. I still can not look at pictures or hear stories without bringing a tear to the eye. I did not personally know someone who lost their lives that day, but I am a proud American whose heart breaks for each family that did have someone in the towers, pentagon, and field. My thoughts and prayers are still with you even today and I can say proudly "We will never forget!".

Birthday Shout Out!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMAW!!!! We love you and hope you have a fantastic day!!

Last week the kids and I got the chance to go see Mamaw and Papaw for a couple of days. On Thursday Mamaw and all of us headed to a local potter, "Turn & Burn" to be exact, to get the kids' hands and feet imprinted on a pottery dish. This is something that mom did for me and for my sister when we were one so Mamaw wanted to carry on the tradition. It was actually fun. The kids didn't cry at all (which was my fear). Instead they were curious as to what was going on. Below are a few pictures of both of them.
This next particular picture shows you what Zack was really wanting to do instead of prints. He wanted to walk around in a pottery shop. YES, all boy!! So Mamaw walked around with him to make sure there were no broken pieces that I had to pay for.

Again, Happy Birthday Mamaw. Thank you so much for helping us get this done. We love you!!
