Character Day

It's dress like your favorite book character day at school today.  Zack dressed up like a doctor and the book is The Bubble Guppies, The Doctor's in.  Maddie dressed up like Camillia again from Camillia the Cupcake Fairy again like last year.  I tried talking her into maybe doing The Lollipop Fairy or Apple pie Fairy, but she was not budging.  So here they are:

Ms. Mother Goose

Today I gave the kids a special surprise.  I was Mother Goose at school.  I will be there tomorrow to read more Nursery Rhymes.  It was so much fun today!!  I had the full makeup and all!

Countdown Update

So I'm behind on posts, sorry!  The last few days we have:

Today we will be writing to our favorite character.  They are suppose to return a signed picture...we will see if that works.  I'm certain if they do, it will be well after our visit.

Best Birthday Gift

So I'm back to running.  I have my half marathon in April.  I took off way too much time and I am now practically starting over.  Yesterday, on my birthday, I had to run 9 miles.  I got to 7 and texted Michael that I was dehydrated and exhausted.  A few minutes later at 7.5, I see Mike and the kids in the car.  He brought me water and then followed me around in the car for the last 1.5 miles and cheered me on.  Every so many yards I could hear them all chanting "go mommy, go!"  Oh, it was the best gift ever!!!!!!

Celebrating Mommy

Mamaw and Papaw came up Saturday to take me out to dinner for my birthday.  We went to an Asian restaurant downtown mo-ville.  It was delicious.  Then we came home for cake and ice cream.  I received so many great gifts.  I got money, clothes, gift cards, perfume and then I received a beautiful necklace from my wonderful hubby. Thank you Mamaw and Papaw for coming up.  And thank you everyone else for the calls, cards and gifts.  Love you all.  

Surrender the Booty

Mike and I were invited to a pirate themed Mardi Gras party on Friday.  We had a lot of fun!  I actually made our costumes out of stuff from Goodwill/Salvation Army. Then we also raided Zack's pirate stash.  Enjoy the pic!

Countdown is On

Today we officially start our countdown to Disney!!  We are 30 days away!  Mommy has made a countdown calendar, complete with an activity to do every day.  I haven't decide if I will post every activity.  I will try my best to get most of them blogged!  

Today's activity is to email Walt Disney World and let them know how excited you are that you will be coming for a visit.  I heard from others, that they should be getting back a picture in the mail from WDW!  We will see.

Happy Valentine's Day

Friday, we had a fun valentine's day at home and enjoyed another day of snow.  Mommy made some heart-shaped pancakes, then heart sandwiches and then daddy was sweet and brought home dinner so mommy didn't have to cook.  I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's!!

Snow much Fun

Last week in the snow we checked off the snow fun list.  Wednesday night we made snow cream, which the kids LOVED!  Then Thursday, Mike had off due to the snow, so the family got to have a snow day together.  We built a snow man, had a snowball fight, more sledding and warmed up with hot chocolate.  It was a great snow day!!  Now, after having a good snow, I am ready for spring!!!

My kids first official time ever sledding.  They loved it!!  They did not want to come inside, poor Zack's cheeks were a mess.  He has been asking to go back out every 5 minutes!

Winter Storm 2014

We are having a huge snow storm here.  In 4 hours we have received 4" and it is supposed to snow until tomorrow.  The kids have LOVED going out and playing in it.

Celebrating Early

Since Grammy came up to visit for the weekend, she surprised mommy with an early birthday celebration since she won't be able to see me on my birthday.  She made dinner and an ice cream cake.  Here we are singing happy birthday to mommy.  Thanks Grammy!!

First game shot

Saturday, Zack had another basketball practice and then game.  Well he made is 1st shot during the game.  I have the shot on video, but I sopped recording right before he did a celebratory arm wave that was priceless.  Next time, I will make sure to record that too!  Way to go Zack!!

Friend's Birthday Party

Saturday afternoon we were invited to go play at Gymboree for our friend, Robert's Birthday Party.  The kids always love playing with Kaitlyn and Robert.  Happy Birthday Robert!!

Grammy Visit

This past Friday we received a visit from Grammy.  I didn't tell the kids so it was a big surprise them on Friday.  She actually helped me out a ton, due to poor daddy had come down with the flu last week.  So he was stuck in bed from Wednesday-Saturday.  

The kids were so excited and made her read to them and play games.  Thanks Grammy for coming to see us!!

Catching Up

Saturday, February 1st, we went to dinner with some UNC friends of mine.  After dinner we watched Dook lose to Syracuse on the tv at the restaurant we were at...great time!!!

UNC getaway

Friday, January 31st, daddy and mommy snuck away to Chapel Hill for the weekend.  Thanks to Mamaw and Papaw for watching the kids.  We went to the UNC vs NC State game.  It was a great game (aka UNC won).  Go Heels!! 

Celebrating Aunt Stacy

On Thursday, January 30th, we received a special surprise visit from Aunt Dtacy, Aaden and Bentley.  Then we all rode together to Mamaw and Papaw's house. Once we were there we celebrated Aunt Stacy's birthday.  The cake and ice cream was delicious!!!
