CMA Fest Day 1

Day one was fantastic! It is going to be hard to top. The only downer yesterday was last night my phone and camera died halfway through all the performances last night, but Crystal has graciously offered to share her pics.

So, here is how the day went. We first got up and visited Gaylord Opryland Resort. Then we went next door and toured The Grand Ol Opry. We went back stage and got to see the dressing rooms, the green room and mail boxes of all the stars. But the best part was walking out on stage. We all stood on the famous wood circle from the original opry house at Ryman Theater and sang. Even if it was only You Are My Sunshine, it was amazing to be exactly where all the country stars were.

After that we were off to downtown Nashville. We took in a few concerts like Jarrod Niemann and Lee Brice. Then we toured around and picked up tons of freebies. They were handing out backpacks, magazines, shirts and even food. We then stopped to watch the Dog Air Show. It is where the dogs stand on a dock, their owners throw a toy and the dogs jump after it, landing in a pool of water to see how far they can jump. It was very neat. We had dinner at Dick's Last Resort, which is always a blast, before the main event at LP Stadium.

At LP the concerts were Glenn Campbell, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Kelly Pickler, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, Lauren Alaina, and Brad Paisley who also brought Hank Williams, Jr. My favorite of the night was Jason Aldean. He was just so great!
You would think after that we would have been tired, but nope. We then headed off to a karaoke bar and got our singing on. We had such a blast and look forward to the next three days!
