My December Goal

I have been keeping a secret.  It wasn't because I wanted it to be a secret, it was more because I wasn't sure how serious I was about what I was doing.  And since I am half way to my goal, I thought I would make it public to give me the extra push to reach my goal.  

About 5 weeks ago, I was getting sad because I had started gaining weight even though I was still running (granted it was only 1-2 times a week).  So I decided to train for a 10k, which is 6.2 miles.  I got about 2 weeks into it when I ran my first 4 mile distance and I talked to the bestie (Crystal) about it.  That's when she told me that she wanted to skip the 10k and train for a half marathon and asked if I would join her.  That way we could hold each other accountable.  How long is a half marathon?  It is 13.1 miles...yes I'm crazy!!  So I decided to join her in the training. Last week I did finished week five.  Here is what my training looks like:

This coming week I will actually have to repeat due to running in a mud run this Saturday.  My training is set up by running all my long distance runs on Saturdays (sometimes I move them to Friday if I know someone will watch the kids).  This past week I finished 7 miles.  I am slow!  Very slow actually!  However, I saw a post on Pinterest that stated "yeah I run.  I might run slower than turtles running through peanut butter, but I run!"  So...I need lots of inspiration to help me complete my goal by December!!

Agreed you are crazy but I know you can do it!!! Let me know if you need help and I will be in the car cheering you on :)

You can do it! Just keep pacing yourself at your speed. Finishing 1/2 a marathon will be quite an accomplishment! Proud of you!
